What's a very contradictory vegetable?
Red Russian Kale. What else would be one of the hardiest and yet most tender-leaved kale?
This veggie originated from Siberia and was brought to Canada by Russian traders. Why they went there of all places, I'll never know. It's pretty and frilly, purple-veined-blue-green leaves (if you cut out the leaves part it sounds like a dress) are tinged with red-purple and resemble oak leaves, but you can eat this and not that.
A single serving of this contains more than a day's worth of vitamin A requirement - oh, if only this worked for grades - and is also full of vitamins K, C and B6 along with manganese, magnesium, copper and calcium (try saying that really fast).
